We’re excited to announce that our Music Production team has been awarded the Careers Champion Award at this year’s YSJ Awards, held last Wednesday in the stunning Creative Centre auditorium.

This award recognises the team’s dedication to giving students real-world industry experience as part of their course, developing industry insight, and career-ready skills. From working with BBC Introducing to recording at the iconic Abbey Road Studios, students on the Music Production course are constantly engaging with the professional music world. The team also collaborates with a range of industry partners throughout the year, helping students build valuable connections and gain insight into careers in music.

The award was presented by Students’ Union President of Education Kamil Lawal, and Vice Chancellor Professor Karen Bryan, who praised the team’s innovative and forward-thinking approach. Course Lead Chris Johnson accepted the award on behalf of the team, surrounded by cheers and applause at what was a truly celebratory evening.

A huge congratulations to the entire Music Production team—this award is a testament to your passion, creativity, and dedication to student success!
